GOLDEN
MOMENT FOR PGF The latest PGF Gala Charity Dinner held in aid of HEARTT2000 and local charities was at the Mata Hari Restaurant. With the 45 patrons well-sated from the fine cuisine and excellent wine, the raffle tickets sold quickly and raised over 65,000 baht.
Peewee
and his wife Sue had a pleasant surprise when, having been bitterly
disappointed that their numbers had not been drawn earlier in the
evening they suddenly found they had become the owners of the 1 baht
Gold chain star prize. Not for long though, as Peewee generously
re-donated it to be auctioned to raise extra money for Dr.
Philippe’s work to provide the life-saving drugs for the HIV/AIDS
patients. After some brisk bidding Mr. Louis Noll, the owner of Mata
Hari, was able to hand over the gold chain to his wife after first
handing over 9,000 baht to add to the Charity funds. After a very
pleasant evening some 92,500 baht
had been raised and the PGF Charity
Committee wish to thank all those who attended, those who donated
prizes and especially Louis and his staff for the excellent meal and
service. |

This year was no exception, with a wonderful menu of excellently prepared and presented dishes, the 90 assembled diners who had already donated 400 baht a head from their tickets bringing in 36,000 baht, showed their support by purchasing raffle tickets and raising another fantastic 140,000 baht After one guest decided to auction his raffle prize others followed suit and an extra 33,300 was added. The fantastic total sum of 229,300 baht was raised during the evening. Thanks to Fredi and his fantastic staff who kept everyone well fed and watered! TOTAL TO DATE 733,000 Baht – Let’s hope the rest of the year will continue to be so successful. THE NEXT EVENT APRIL 18th SONGKRAN JOMTIEN STREET PARTY Jomtien Complex with Swimsuit contest! MEMBERSHIP The growing number of Companies, Hotels, Restaurants and individuals who have become members of PGF 2004 is encouraging and the PGF committee are grateful to all the businesses who have so far shown encouragement and support of the efforts to raise the much needed funds to help the work primarily of HEARTT2000. The logo’s or acknowledgements of all those who have subscribed can be seen on this newsletter and on the website www.pattayagayfestival.com The committee would wish to encourage PGF membership to as wide a group of businesses and individuals as possible and if you can encourage your favourite watering hole or any gay-friendly business to join, send for a membership form from Allan at pgfnews@hotmail.com The PGF committee also hopes that the participating businesses would in turn be supported by our rank and file PGF members when they are choosing to go out to eat, drink, buy jewelry or clothes. May Newsletter 7 LATEST REPORTS JOMTIEN JOLLIES KEEP HEARTT 2000 AND PGF ON THE RIGHT LINES OVER SONGKRAN Sunday 18th April brought the Jomtien PGF supporting businesses together in Jomtien Complex to present their Songkran offering to raise money for HEARTT 2000’s on-going work to help provide life-saving medicinal care for HIV/AIDS patients. So far in the first quarter of this year Pattaya Gay Festival has raised the equivalent of 200,000 a month to help Dr. Philippe in this essential work. The Jomtien Sponsors event helped raise another 50,000 Baht. Some 300 people were present to enjoy the delights of the Star Treff Cabaret and Exxit performers.
The brave
contestants in the Swimwear competition had no doubt expected some
water activity but with all the electricity and sound systems’
wiring around it was a very “dry” event. As a first-time ‘happening’ the organizers must surely have taken encouragement from the attendance and popularity of the event and venue. With this and the August Miss PGF Street Party and the Beach Party in the final events calendar on November 29th, the PGF committee are grateful to the Jomtien community for playing such an important part in the year-long charitable activities to raise money for HEARTT 2000.
ROYAL VARIETY
PERFORMANCE AT THROB/SPLASH The PGF Committee would like to thank again the sponsors for all the work put in at both these events. THE NEXT EVENT MATA HARI DINNER |
